Q. What kind of issues does the Children’s Specialist Centre deal with?
A. We cater for general paediatric issues, anxiety, depression, ASD, infectious diseases, eating problems, behavioural, dysmorphia, immunisation, urinary, gastro, reproductive, inguino-scrotal, eye disorders, genetic and chromosomal issues, allergies, pre-conception and post-natal.
Q. Do you have surgical specialists?
A. Yes, many of our specialists are surgeons.
Q. Are all your specialists trained?
A. Yes, our specialists have top credentials and many years’ experience overseas and in New Zealand in their chosen fields of medicine.
Q. Are there specialists for most child and adolescent problems?
A. We provide expert treatment for almost all medical health issues except ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat)
Q. What age groups do you treat?
A. We provide specialist care for pre-natal (unborn) to 18 years.
Q. What say you can’t help with a certain problem?
A. We will always refer you to a specialist elsewhere who can.
Q. Do you need an appointment, or can you just walk in?
A. Yes, you do require an appointment.
Q. Do I need a referral from my GP before I can see you?
A. Yes –in most cases your own GP doctor sees you first to issue a referral to the Children’s Specialist Centre.
Q. Do I need an appointment to get a script?
A. Yes. Script only appointments are available daily to accommodate your script needs.
Q. Can I make an enquiry via email prior to my appointment or anytime throughout my treatment?
A. Yes, there is an email enquiry form on this website.
Q. Can I use my Private Health Insurance?
A. Yes, some procedures can be claimed through your health fund. Conditions do apply. Please speak to reception staff for more details.
Q. Will you call me with test results?
A. Patients are usually expected to come back to follow-up on test results. At the end of your visit, speak to your doctor about the appropriate time to come back. Please note that you may be able to arrange with the lab to have access to some of your lab results.
Q. Do you have parking on site?
A. Yes, there is easy parking at the rear of the building.
Q. What are your hours?
A. Opening Hours
- Monday 9am – 2.30pm
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am – 4.30pm
- Fridays Closed
Q. Do you send out appointment reminders?
A. Yes, we do send out reminder texts for appointments.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel appointments. Failure to give the required notice period may incur a fee.
Q. My child’s problem is delicate. Can I be assured of confidentiality?
A. Yes, indeed. The Children’s Specialist Centre is a warm, welcoming, safe and non-judgemental environment where we guarantee you will feel comfortable.
